WHAT IS DOOM FACE?

You know the moment. You opened TikTok for five minutes and somehow it's forty minutes later. Doom Face waits. Then: 2. 1. Flash. Now your face is on the map.

Doom Face is an Android app that detects doomscrolling — the apps you pick, monitored for how long you actually scroll them, not how long the screen is on. Cross a random threshold and your front camera takes one candid photo. No posing, no retake, no warning of exactly when it'll happen.

HOW DOOM FACE WORKS

You choose which apps count as doomscrolling for you — TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, whatever actually gets you. Doom Face watches for genuine scrolling activity in those apps using Android's Accessibility service, without reading anything you're actually looking at.

Scroll long enough in one sitting and you cross a threshold that's different every time — somewhere between 8 and 15 minutes, picked at random so you can never predict it. Then: 2. 1. Flash. Your front camera takes one photo, right where you are, mid-scroll.

YOUR FACE. YOUR APPROXIMATE LOCATION.

Your Doom Face photo uploads automatically to the public Doom Map. It appears with an approximate location — fuzzed on your own phone before it ever leaves the device, never your exact address or street. We don't publish precise coordinates, and the map has no way to show one.

THE DOOM MAP

The map above is real, live production data — the same catches the Android app shows, not a demo. Each face is one real person's most recent catch. LIVE shows the last hour, TODAY shows the last 24 hours, WORLD shows everyone currently active. Zoom out and individual faces become simple activity markers; zoom in and the real photographs appear.

KEEP THE EVIDENCE

Free Doom Face keeps your latest catch. Doom Face+ is a one-time purchase that keeps every photo you're ever caught in, permanently. Read more about Doom Face+ →

FAQ

Does Doom Face take photos without warning?
Yes, deliberately. You choose to enable it and pick which apps it watches during setup, but you're never warned of the exact moment - that's the point.
Does Doom Face publish my exact location?
No. Your location is fuzzed on your own device before anything uploads. The public map only ever sees an approximate area.
Can I delete my photo?
Yes, any time, from the app's Evidence screen. Deletion removes the photo from storage and from the public map.
Does Doom Face read my screen?
No. It detects scrolling gestures via Android's Accessibility service, but never reads the content of the posts, messages or videos you're viewing.
Does it work on iPhone?
Not currently. Doom Face is Android-only for now.
